Handcrafted monochords for sound baths

I make monochords by hand in France. As a professional violinist and instrument maker, I listen closely to the wood, strings and overtones of each instrument. My aim is to create a musical companion with a distinctive voice, whether you play for yourself or guide a sound bath.

What is a monochord?

A monochord is a string instrument built around resonance and the interaction of closely related notes. Depending on its design, it can create a sustained sound field, melodic lines and rich harmonics. I build and adjust each instrument individually, with attention to tone, tuning and playing comfort.

Monochords and sound healing practices

Many musicians and practitioners use monochords for meditation, relaxation, sound baths and sound healing sessions. A monochord can sit alongside gongs, singing bowls, crystal bowls, tuning forks and chimes, while offering its own string sound. 432 Hz tuning and custom options

My monochords are generally tuned around an A=432 Hz reference. This is a musical choice, not a therapeutic promise. Other tunings can be discussed to suit your project or the instruments you play with. I can also help you learn to tune and care for your monochord after delivery.
